About us - Family owned & operated

Co-founded by Milton Arredondo and Erika Herrera, DOMESTIC has brought American regional cuisine with a focus on California Style BBQ to the heart of La Puente & Covina.

DOMESTIC prides itself in pushing the boundaries of traditional BBQ by imparting flavors uncommonly used. Smoking with Hickory or Pecan wood, using a 16 blend dry rub, offering scratch made, hand crafted cuisine, as well, as craft beer sourced from local breweries. The factor that has always set DOMESTIC apart from the crowd is DOMESTIC’s commitment to making everything from scratch, daily, in-house.

We are a family-owned and operated restaurant specializing in California Style BBQ. 

DOMESTIC’s original location opened July 2015 in La Puente, CA after building out the space for 5 months. Four years after operating successfully in a welcoming community, the owners decided to open another location in their hometown. DOMESTIC’s Covina location opened late-September 2019, 4 months after renovations.

With two locations, they are trailblazing California Style BBQ using Angus prime beef, Duroc heritage pork, and Jidori chicken, along with different flavors as an homage to their Hispanic heritage.

DOMESTIC team members are all local community members in support of the vision of providing the freshest food possible within the downtown area. Keeping true to the name, ingredients are locally sourced, from our artisanal bread to using premium fresh never frozen ingredients.

DOMESTIC serves meats that have been slow cooked to capacity for up to 14hours, as a result we do sell out of our smoked meats; When you eat at DOMESTIC you will always get fresh food; when we sell out its gone.
